The XOOPS Development Team is pleased to announce the release of XOOPS 2.3.0 RC.
The objective of XOOPS 2.3 releases is to merge the two existent branches of 2.0 and 2.2 and to build a bridge towards our next generation of system XOOPS 3.0.
With XOOPS 2.3 releases, users will be able to learn some of new features that will be available in XOOPS 3.0, while developers can understand better the direction of XOOPS development, and designers can learn what features will be supported in the future.
Both backward and forward compatibility will be guaranteed as much as possible. Modules written for 2.0.* and 2.2.* will work with 2.3; applications developed for 2.3 will be compatible with XOOPS 3.0 automatically.
Developers are encouraged to write their application modules on XOOPS 2.3 so they can incorporate some of the new features and ensure easy migration to XOOPS 3.0.
The RC release is freezing the key features for this release with some minor improvements introduced in the specific release.

顺便说说WordPress 2.01的更新：修正了114个Bug，现在可以自己设定上传目录；XML-RPC接口也可以上传文件；还有可以在PHP5下正常工作了。

XPress Plus 2.0 RC 发布

XPress Plus 在XPress原版的基础上仅仅增加了一些插件和风格，并没有修改核心代码。
增加插件：

kgarchives.php：增强归档功能。

How to use permalink provided by WordPress



No need to repeat advantages of mod_rewrite, just remind that it is much webserver setting limited

Some hosting impose strict restriction on mod_rewrite related settings and you are unfortunately unable to use mod_rewrite and original link mode is the only option for you: http:/ /myblog.com/modules/wordpress/?p=123

Complete mod_rewrite is not available with some hosting or .htaccess is disabled, in this case you can only use the pseudo-permalink setting in Custom: http:/ /myblog.com/modules/wordpress/index.php/123

Even if you are lucky enough to be able to use complete mod_rewrite, make sure to make .htaccess read only once the file is modified, or write the file manually

The last point: if you are likely to switch from one hosting to another frequently, I would suggest to use the original permalink mode (http:/ /myblog.com/modules/wordpress/?p=123) considering you might lose the chance to use same mode for permalink by which you could lose all your google-indexed page links, even your PageRank!


How to convert standalone WordPress to XPress or rollback XPress to standalone WordPress?


XPress uses the same tables as WordPress, it is very straightforward to switch between standalone WordPress and XPress. The only thing to be careful is table names, make sure to be compliant with XOOPS table prefix.

Even if you stay with XPress, you have the choice to use XOOPS classical layout or WordPress layout: set proper preference in module preferences

替换wp-admin目录里的quicktags.js
从0813升级：
上传wp-content目录。替换wp-admin目录里的quicktags.js。
这是XPress 1.5.1.3最后的一个版本了，WordPress已经推出了1.5.2，在XPress 1.5.2版本中，我不会再制作增强版，大家可以把这个（Final）版本中的wp-content目录里的plugins和themes目录里的文件添加到新的版本。根据这个版本修改wp-admin目录里的quicktags.js。

怎么安装？
1.备份好“XOOPS\images\icons\”文件夹里的内容
2.把压缩包解压到“XOOPS\images\icons\”，覆盖存在的文件。

文件包中的“源文件.png”就是源文件，推荐用Fireworks打开修改。
修改提示：英文字体用的是“Lucida Sans”平滑消除锯齿，中文字体用的是“宋体”，不消除锯齿。

由于这个我的电脑最近为Linux删了不少文件，把EasyPHP也给删了，所以没有测试，请使用了这一系列（包括aqua,Blue和Black）的朋友把你的网站地址发上来，我可以看看效果，以便使下一组/系列图标更美观。也希望朋友多发表一下看法，我可以改进不足。
相比较而言，我觉得Aqua要比Black和Blue要更美观。
搭配指南：
如果你的网站是以浅色调为主（白，灰，浅绿，浅蓝等），推荐使用aqua。
如果你的网站是以深的冷色调为主（天蓝、橄榄绿等），推荐使用blue。
如果你的网站以黑色（或很深的颜色，字为白色）为主，推荐使用black。
这是我个人的颜色喜好，仅供参考。
